SAW PALMETTO

Saw Palmetto
Saw Palmetto is a small plant indigenous to the south-east of the United States, from South Carolina to Florida. The extract is taken from the dried fruit. Saw Palmetto extract has anti-inflammatory flavonoids such as rutin, kaempferol and apigenin to support blood circulation in the scalp. Fatty acids within the extract may assist in reducing the damaging effects of androgens (the most damaging being dihydrotestosterone, or DHT) on the hair follicle.
BIOTIN

Biotin
Biotin, or Vitamin B7, is a water-soluble vitamin naturally occurring in foods such as meat, nuts and eggs. Biotin acts as a coenzyme in many biological processes including those associated with hair growth. It has long been used to help hair feel thicker.
CAFFEINE EXTRACT

Caffeine Extract
Caffeine is produced as a by-product of the decaffeination process of coffee beans. It is a phosphodiesterase inhibitor which serves to increase cAMP levels in cells and therefore promotes proliferation by stimulating cell metabolism. This counteracts the effect of androgen-induced follicular miniaturisation and may promote hair growth.
GINGER ROOT EXTRACT

Ginger Root Extract
Ginger is a medicinal plant that has been used for thousands of years to treat a range of ailments. The active component of ginger is 6-gingerol, which has antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties that create a healthy environment for hair follicles. 6-gingerol also promotes blood flow to nourish hair follicles.
SEAWEED ALGAE EXTRACT

Seaweed Extract
Seaweed extract, or algae, has a particularly high nutrient content, containing calcium, iodine, magnesium, iron, potassium, vitamin A, B1, B2, B6, C and niacin. It provides antioxidants and essential fatty acids that help protect scalp cells. Its rehydrating ability will nourish hair and help stop it becoming brittle, and can increase shine without making hair greasy or limp.
CHAMOMILE EXTRACT

Chamomile Extract
Chamomile is a member of the daisy family and has been used for hundreds of years as a healing herb, particularly for skin conditions and anxiety. The extract is packed with flavonoids such as apigenin which can penetrate the skin and act as an anti-inflammatory, creating a healthy environment for hair roots.
Oils
ARGAN OIL

Argan Oil
The Argan tree is endemic to Morocco, North Africa. Argan oil is extracted from the kernels of the fruit and can form a hydrophobic barrier which helps keep hair moisturised, strong and shiny.
ROSEMARY ESSENTIAL OIL

Rosemary Essential Oil
Rosemary is a herb used for both food and healing. Native to the Mediterranean, an essential oil is extracted by distilling the plant compounds. Mediterranean culture has used rosemary essential oil for centuries in hair rinses. Compounds in rosemary leaf have been found to reduce the ability of DHT to bind to androgen receptors, helping protect the hair follicle.
LAVENDER ESSENTIAL OIL

Lavender Essential Oil
Taken from the fragrant lavender plant, lavender essential oil is a popular remedy for insomnia and anxiety. It is also used to help control sebum and moisture balance in hair. Its antimicrobial properties make it a good candidate for maintaining a healthy scalp and hair root system.
VITAMIN E OIL

Vitamin E Oil
Vitamin E is a naturally occurring fat-soluble antioxidant found in foods such as nuts and seeds. It scavenges free radicals that would otherwise damage cells. People with hair loss often show lower antioxidant levels in the scalp, and Vitamin E may help reduce the effects of oxidant damage on hair follicles.
